Adiàn Benmalek will guide us through a screening and discussion of Chris Marker’s 1962 sci-fi masterpiece, La Jetée. Celebrated for its unique composition of still black and white photographs, this 28 minute film offers a profound, poetic look into the mechanics of memory.

Following the screening, Adiàn will lead an open dialogue on how the film reflects our complex relationship with space, time, and human consciousness. We will examine how our minds navigate the past, our desire to freeze meaningful moments, and what it means to exist in the present. We will conclude the evening with a brief & reflective writing exercise, allowing participants to quietly map their own core memories. We look forward to an evening of thoughtful conversation and shared insight.
