The Transformative Education Center and The Learning Tree 

invite you to an interactive and theatrical presentation by Dr. Gopal Krishnamurthy and participants drawing on recent presentations he made for faculty and graduate students at the San Francisco Exploratorium, MIT and UC Berkeley.

This presentation will focus on concrete/practical examples from literacy, mathematics, etc. – for all ages – to challenge taken for granted school, teaching, and parenting practices…attempting to make visible the absurdity of common and taken for granted interactions in conventional and even so called ‘progressive’/’alternative’ settings. We consider the questions: Can it be otherwise? Can we be otherwise? Can we do otherwise?

Gopal will also use these concrete situations to extend an invitation and challenge for adults to be active/disciplined researchers and learners in co-developing a groundbreaking pedagogy at home and school (public, private, and ‘alternative’) for human beings of 

all ages.
